Belinda is a therapeutic harpist providing live therapeutic harp music tailored to the needs of a group or individual, for support, connection and comfort.
Drawing on appropriate repertoire and intuitive improvisation, the music is adapted as it is played, to support the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the person in the moment, through tempo, mode, rhythm, dynamics, or the use of a person’s individual resonant tone.
Live musical services create a calming atmosphere, and can promote increased relaxation, clarity, decreased anxiety and agitation, relief from pain, or improved communications.
Around 5 years ago Belinda began to play the harp and discovered the effects of its unique vibrational qualities on mind and body, and the imagery and emotions that harp music can evoke. This paved the way for exploration of harp music as a tool for energy work and as a therapeutic modality. She is completing the Therapy Harp Training Program which includes diverse topics such as entrainment, resonance, modal improvisation, bedside playing, community and medical settings.
